Hate Target Development.

Ok I'm going to probably rant this one out cause I'm quite upset right now.
So I have a 36 exposure roll of Kodak 400CN (I think this is it, its a Black & White film that can be processed in the same process as color film). I put so much work into each and ever frame because for me $6 - $7 per roll is basically gold. I might as well been dealing with a roll of gold.
I finish up the last few pics with my fiance doing some poses for me. I get to Target so amazingly pumped (its amazing the rush I get from film processing, one of the many reasons I love film.) I had some errands to run with my fiance so we come back later that night to the Target and I'm basically sprinting I"m so excited to see how those last few came out. 36 MORE GLORIOUS PHOTOS TO GO OVER. I get to the counter and am just barely able to spew the words out, "Hi, I'm here to pick up some pictures."
"Last name?", the lady says, not even realizing she didn't even form a sentence.
"Severson.", I state back to her.
"Oh yeah, that was a blank roll", she says non-chilantly.
...
...
"There's no charge for it!", She says, as if it was really what I cared about.
I take the blank strip of film, a dried husk of its former self. Looking over the entire length I see something odd...ABSOLUTELY nothing. I mean there wasn't one blacked out frame from massive over exposure, there wasn't fragments of pictures from some mechanical problem. There was ABSOLUTELY nothing on the film anymore.
Now this had me baffled, I got home and of course checked my camera, its a Pentax K1000. Its been faithful ever since I got it. I flip the latch and set the shutter to "B". After clicking down the shutter with the back open I start to wonder if "B" stands for butter cause thats what it worked like. I love the loud clack of that shutter. I flipped the advancer again and I noted all the wheels and cogs spinning as they should...I just don't understand it.
I call Target back and ask if they do Black and White film processing (thinking if they did they may have mistaken it and run it in the wrong chemicals. I thought that could destroy some film I'm sure.
"Yeah we can process it!", she replied to my question about black and white films.
Digging deaper into who is really behind the counter I go on, "Is that a different process it runs through?"
"Nope, same as any film!", she chipperly announced.
...
...
I feel like I'm going crazy right now, anyone want to reassure me here that it isn't all me?
I mean how do you get a complete blank strip, ABSOLUTELY nothing. If the film didn't advance through the camera wouldn't there be one blacked out frame by the end? Plus my shutter and camera are still working in tip top shape. So is it Target?
All I can promise after this is, I'm never going back there again. Ever. Its either ProEx or Costco (they actually have really good quality to their prints).
